Dust off your helmet and pump up your tyres… Morgan Pilley’s 24 Hour Ride for Youth is on again! Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th December 2016, Junction Hill. Last year, professional mountain biker and Yamba local, Morgan Pilley, road a staggering 590km to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health in the Clarence Valley. Over the course of the 24 hour event, 69 riders joined Morgan, to complete an awesome 5372 laps of the Junction Hill Criterion Track (travelling 4298km in the process). We exceeded our fundraising target of $3000, raising a total of $3555.
All of the money raised has been directed towards local youth mental health initiatives, including Youth Mental Health First Aid training, delivered by Mark McGrath from CRANES Community Programs. With the generous support of Morgan and the Clarence Valley Community, Mark has been able to train an additional 60 people in how to best assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Morgan is keen to do it all again and we are determined to make this year’s event even bigger and better!
