During January, two SGHS students, Myra Cross and Scott Rose, attended The ConocoPhillips Science Experience in Brisbane. The event was hosted by the University of Queensland and Young Scientists of Australia, to promote interest in tertiary education and careers with STEM. The three-day program utilised university resources to present hands-on activities involving engineering, chemistry, neuroscience, soil science, forensics and innovation.
The ConocoPhillips Science Experience is also available in 2019 at the University of New England in Armidale for any students in Year 9 or 10 interested in science, technology, engineering or maths.
Many thanks to Grafton Rotary for their continued support of youth opportunities.
