Two SGHS students, Caleb Barker and Scott Rose, were involved in a Rotary camp late last year called the Rotary Youth Transition Seminar. The one-week residential camp focuses on the development of skills needed to make the transition from school into post-secondary education and employment. RYTS provides activities related to renting, budgeting, goal setting, career choice and self-confidence. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded people aged 16-18 from areas outside of the Clarence Valley, and form a strong network of friends to communicate with. Anyone aged 16-18 can apply for the 2018 program at the end of this year, which is already being planned. More information about RYTS can be found on their Facebook page, RYTS Camp 9640, or their website.
Many thanks to Rotary and the SRC for their sponsorship of this opportunity.
