South Grafton High School English students were able to watch a live stream from Sydney Opera House in their classroom. The tyranny of distance does not allow our students to experience these notable events as their urban counterparts. The Daily Examiner has some great photos and article on this dailyexaminer.com.au

Once again, our mighty chess team this year composed of Levin and Thea Shillam, Grant Finlay, Jack Carnaby, Mackenzie Hogden, Zlata Vorontslova, Cody Duck and Jake Martin attended a regional championship at Woolgoolga High School and came home with the goods! We were up against seven other schools and everyone played seven games. Levin Shillam did not lose one match and consequently took out the championship as best individual player. The SGHS team took home the trophy for best school as well.

The Industrial Technology Department is after old tools (working or not), building materials and steel materials that would help in delivering the senior courses. Examples of items are; bricks (pressed) & blocks, building timbers & sheeting, tiles, pavers, steel sections (RHS, flat, round, tube/pipe, sheet), old bike frames.

Contact Mr Dave Youman (Head Teacher Ind. Tech.) with a description of the items and he can arrange the pick-up of suitable items.

Don’t let it go to land-fill.
